The only mods you have to manually install are. DLL mods, managed by a mod manager of some type. I always recommend having a "Clean" Skyrim data folder, aside from. The right way: If you want to fix the manual install (which I recommend), delete your textures folder and verify integrity of the game via Steam.

Whoever or whatever told you to do a manual extraction of Noble to the Skyrim Data folder is not a good source of information, and I'd either say he was intent on screwing up your install, or so clueless he should not be writing a guide. You can install oldrim textures via MO2 or Vortex. Quick way: Use a mod manager, install the SRO, and you should be able to install SRO over the top and none of the Noble textures should be used (they are all covered by SRO, iirc).
